The portal to Graham's world would be opening in just a few short hours, and Arden was mostly packed, except, you know, figuring out which clothes she was actually bringing. Sure, underthings, toiletries electronics (not that she knew how she'd plug them in), jewelry, makeup, even a book or two were already nearly folded into the suitcase that had accompanied her on her flight from North Carolina to Fandom, but the actual clothes shed planned to wear were still on her bed. The problem (which was actually no problem, the opposite of a problem, really) was that she needed clothing for four days and Boc had sent her easily double that. Several were the same dress in a different color, the one they'd talked about when she'd first visited, put together by her fumbling ideas about what she liked and what she assumed would be appropriate and his understanding of fabric and flow and aesthetics. If she'd just gotten those, she would have been grateful. But it seemed like he'd gotten inspired because he'd included several more outfits, including some dresses so airy and beautiful she'd felt like a princess just looking at them, a melding of fantasy aesthetic and her own nature. And so now she was at the hard part - figuring which outfits should go and which should remain, since she didn't have room in her suitcase for all of them.
Which, of course, meant trying them on and modeling them in front of her mirror to decide which she liked best. This martial little number with the leather...arm protector thingies? They probably had a proper name...was the last one to try as she twisted and craned in the mirror to check it out from as many angles as possible. "What do you think?" she asked a bird who had made its way into her room and was preening itself on the back of the desk chair. "Too much?"
The bird seemed disinclined to give an opinion.
