You know what one of the best things about dating Cal was? Not having to come up with excuses to spend time together, even when (especially when?) that time was spent going to a nice restaurant for dinner together. A restaurant nice enough to warrant a little bit of dressing up, even!

But even without needing a reason, it just seemed right to go out to dinner together while in Barbados. Like she'd mentioned to Graham, they'd gotten together during a school trip, so going out to commemorate it was, well...almost like celebrating an anniversary.

Or maybe she was overthinking it entirely, but either way, here they were, with a delicious dinner and a whole night ahead of them.

[For the her Jedi, please! And what? Me trying to shove in a bunch of RP before I run away for a convention tomorrow? NEVER.]

Cal was, in fact, capable of cleaning himself up, and had a tie on and everything for this date. Because it was a date with his girlfriend and no, the shiny hadn't worn off of that yet.

"Okay, this menu is amazing. I know I said I wanted seafood, but now there's that steak, and you might have to roll me back to the hotel."

Arden burst out laughing. "Such a romantic word picture you've painted," she teased. "But...you do realize if you want both steak and seafood, there's really only one thing to do, riiiiight?"

"Have you order one and I order the other and we share?" Cal said uncertainly. "But only if that's what you want to do."

"Exactly that," Arden said, ignoring the existence of surf and turf platters entirely. She gave him a smile, soft and warm. "I like sharing things with you. Even just steak and seafood."

"I like that we get to share things too. Though, your dessert is all your own. Some lines shouldn't be crossed," Cal said with a smirk. "It seems like the trip is going well for everyone. Quiet, at least, which is always a surprise."

"Quiet is so good. You just missed the trip where we went to outer space and a traveling space theme park crashed into our hotel," Arden said, laughing. "So now that's the scale I grade our trips on."

She glanced down at her menu and then back up at him with a smile. "I like sharing a room with you, too. This time on purpose."

Oh look, Cal's spontaneous sunburn was coming back!

"That's really nice too. It's kind of you to put up with me and BD when other folks only have one roommate."

That was the kind of talk that would get BD to stop clearing his comms of spam messages if he was here to hear it.

"It's true," Arden said with a nod, fighting off a smile. "It's really nice that BD lets you stay with us."

"Honestly, it's nice you let me stay with the two of you. BD knows how to sleep in and makes for good cuddling," Cal teased. "I'm the worst roommate."

"It's true," Arden said, heaving a sigh. "But his could I say no to his little face? He loves you and I love him." Wow, had that sentence seemed fraught to say, for some reason. "So, y'know, I make it work."
