After getting the go-ahead from Marc that the roof was once again accessible to the residents, Arden had headed up there along with a book and a blanket, intending to enjoy some reading high up in the sunshine. But while she had sunshine and height aplenty, she couldn't really muster up the concentration required to get into the book she'd brought up with her. Not the book's fault, she just kept thinking about the weekend.
It wasn't that she'd wanted kids to show up unexpectedly, mind. She'd watched Dean trying to corral his two and hadn't been bowled over with any kind of maternal desire or anything. Even the tea party with Evie and Francis hadn't made her wish for a set of her own or anything. Well, not exactly.
( Snipped for sad sylph speculations )
"Ughhhhhhh...." she groaned, flopping backwards onto the blanket. "Get over yourself, Finch. Who the fuck goes up to the roof to be emo about everything?
