She reluctantly pulled back a bit but took Eleanor's had because she wasn't going to give up holding onto her just yet. But when someone mentioned food, Kamala's first instinct was always to make sure people ate. Something her mother ingrained in her, probably.

"And if my rambling about heroes gets to be too much, you can tell me to stop," Kamala said, earnestly. "My friends back home would get so much thrown at them they had a code word for me to stop talking. I get that heroes aren't everybody's thing so don't be afraid to stop me if it gets to be too much."

I mean at this point, Eleanor probably had a decent understanding of Captain America and Carol Danver's life story.
